Eva Gabor is a Hungarian-American actress, singer, socialite, and businesswoman. Gabor was born on February 11, 1919, to Vilmos Gábor and Jolie Gabor. Eva Gabor was successful as an actress. Early Years

Eva Gabor was born to a Hungarian Jewish family. Her parents Vilmos Gabor and Jolie were both from Jewish families. Gabor’s father was a soldier, and her mother was a jeweller. Vilmor and Jolie had their daughter. 

Eva was the youngest of the three daughters and the first to immigrate to the United States of America. So, Eva left Budapest, Hungary where she grew and emigrated to America with her husband, Eric Drimmer. 

Acting Career

Eva Gabor immigration to the United States brings her success. Her first film appearance was in Forced Landing produced by Paramount Pictures. Aside from Forced Landing, Eva Gabor appeared in The Last Time I Saw Paris and Artist and Models. In the film’s first film, she starred as Elizabeth Taylor. 

She starred along with great actors like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis in Artist and Model. Eva advanced, and they gave her a television talk show, The Eva Gabor Show. The show ran between 1953 and 1954 and for one season. Between the 1950s and early 1960s, Eva appeared in films and television shows. 

She also appeared in My Man Godfrey, Gigi, Started with a Kiss, and in-game performance What is My Line? Eva was popularly known for the role she played in Green Acres as Lisa Douglas. She acted as the wife of Eddie Albert. Also, Eva voiced the Duchess in Aristocats. 

Aside from that, she voiced Miss Bianca in The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under. Eva got the role of Lisa Douglas in 1965. She starred as the wife of Oliver Douglas in Green Acres. Oliver decided to leave the highly competitive city life to the country. Douglas bought a farm and moved with Eva to the farm. 

So, Oliver forced Eva to leave her big city life behind. CBS cancelled Green Acres in 1971. Eva was also the panellist on the Gene Rayburn hosted Match Game. Between 1983 and 1984, Eva was on the Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour. She also appeared in You Can’t Take It with You in 1983 along with Eddie Albert.

Gabor is also a successful businesswoman. She started her fashion collection in 1972 along with Luis Esteves, a Cuban American. 

Marriage

Eva Gabor married Eric Valdemar Drimmer on June 3, 1937. Eric Valdemar is Swedish. Gabor and Eric married in London. Her husband, Eric, is a masseur who becomes an osteopathic and psychologist. After moving to America, the couple split on February 25, 1942, and completed the divorce on March 6.

 Eva claimed that Eric refused to let her have children of her own. She let out that she wanted to have a simple family life, but her husband objected to her having children. After that, Eva began dating Charles Isaacs, who was a broker and an investor. Charles and Eva married on September 27, 1943. 

After some time, they dissolved the marriage on April 2, 1949. Eva started dating John Elbert Williams, a plastic surgeon. The couple took the plunge on April 8, 1956. Shortly after that, on March 20, 1957, they divorced. Gabor then married Richard Brown, who was a textile manufacturer. 

They married on October 4, 1959, at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Richard became a writer and director. Eva and Richard divorced in June 1973 in Santa Monica. She then went on and dated Frank Gard, an aerospace executive. 

The two married on September 21, 1973, in Vivian Webb Chapel of The Webb School. In 1983, Eva and Frank divorced in 1983. It makes Gabor become a stepmother to Jameson’s four children. Eva later had an affair with actor Glenn Ford. She was later involved with producer Merv Griffin until when she died.

Family

Eva Gabor had no children of her own. She was the stepmother for Jameson’s four children. Aside from that, she has two sisters Magda Gabor and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Also, she has a niece Francesca Hilton and a cousin Anette Lantos who is her cousin.

Death

Eva Gabor died in California on July 4, 1995. The cause of her death is respiratory pneumonia. It occurred when she fell in a bathtub in Mexico where she was vacationing. 

Eva’s funeral was on July 11, 1995, at Good Shepherd Church. She was the first to die being the youngest sister. Her mother and her elder sister Magda died in 1997. Zsa Zsa, another of her elder sisters, died in 2016.
