Persia White is a Bahamas born American actress, singer and musician. She is best known for her role on the short-lived television series Breaker High as Denise Williams and on the UPN/CW sitcom Girlfriends as Lynn Searcy. Persia White is also known for her role as Abby Bennett Wilson in The Vampire Diaries (2012-2017). She is also a part of the band XEO3 and a solo singer who released her debut album Mecca in 2009. Early Life    

Persia White was born on October 27th, 1972, in Nassau, Bahamas. She was one of the four children born to her Bahamian father and Irish American mother. Persia White spent her early years in the Bahamas. When she was three, her father was involved in an accident that paralysed him. He later moved to Miami, USA, to seek better medical care. A few years later, Persian White’s mother relocated to South Florida with her children but did not reunite with White’s father. 

Education  

Persia White attended the Miami Coconut Grove Children’s Theater. She studied dance, acting, singing, and painting. After her high school education, she signed with the Ford Agency and obtained her Screen Actors Guild card. She then relocated from Miami to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

Persia White rose to fame when featured in the TV series Girlfriends as Lynn Searcy, one of the four heroines. The series was broadcast on CW from 2000 to 2008. it showered the life, feelings, achievements, and disappointments of four friends.

Persia White appeared in cult horror Blood Dolls, Red Letters. She was also featured in several TV series like Operation Sandman, Suddenly, NYPD Blue, Weird Science, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Bahamas born American actress also appeared in The Fall of Night Dawn (2008). Persia White also appeared in the third season of Vampire Diaries as Bonnie Bennett’s mother. The Vampire Diaries movie series played a significant role in the career and the personal life of the actress.

In addition to acting, Persia White also co-produced the award-winning documentary Earthlings, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. White also played Dysfunctional Friends. She won the award in July 2011  for Best Performance by an Actor in the American Black Film Festival. White also starred as Bonnie’s mother on The Vampire Diaries in a semi-recurring role.

In 2019, the actress reunited with her co-stars in Girlfriends, Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks and Jill Marie Jones in an episode of the ABC comedy series Black-ish.

Persia White was Married to singer Saul Williams. The duo met in 2003 when Williams made a guest appearance on Girlfriends. On February 29, 2008, Persia White and Saul Williams got engaged after dating for five years; they also married that same year. On January 17, 2009, the actress announced that she and Williams were no longer together.

Persia White is now married to British actor and Director Joseph Morgan. Joseph Morgan was also featured in the Vampire Diaries actor. White and Joseph Morgan got married on July 5, 2014, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. 

White also has a daughter, Mecca White. Presently, there is no information on Mecca’s biological father.
